The Simonsig Frans Malan Cape Blend 2016 is ruby red in colour with layers of red cherry, ripe dark plum and notes of cherry tobacco and liquorice. This red blend pairs perfectly with East African spiced dishes.
The Simonsig Frans Malan Cape Blend is a Cape style blend made up of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. This wine is perfumed with rich plums, vanilla pods and cigar box; the tannins are soft and subtle with a refined finish.
The Simonsig Wine Estate is well integrated into the history of the South African wine industry. The team is passionate about sustaining the source of their wine in a responsible and ethical manner. The wines express the unique and diverse terroir of the estate.

Simonsig Wine Estate is synonymous with the history of the South African wine industry, the Stellenbosch wine region, and the Malan family name.
These elements are intertwined in this family-owned farm, where the late Frans Malan produced the first bottle of our much-loved Kaapse Vonkel, South Africaʼs first Méthode Cap Classique made in the classic bottle-fermented style. He is also honoured for co-founding the thriving Stellenbosch Wine Route, a first in its time. Today, his legacy lives on through his sons, Francois and Johan, and grandchildren Francois-Jacques, Christelle and Michael, the 2nd and 3rd Malan generations at Simonsig Wine Estate.
