The Remhoogte Chronicle Cape Blend 2017 is produced from grapes harvested from 17 vineyard blocks over 55 hectares and eight soil types. The variation in terroir results in a unique and complex wine.

This red blend is deep red in colour. The nose on the Remhoogte Chronicle Cape Blend is full of blackcurrants, ripe strawberries, red cherries, anise, thyme and cedar. The palate is juicy, the tannins are polished and the acidity is bright and fresh.

Remhoogte Estate wines are a testament to the farm, the soils, the slopes, the vines and the terroir. The team ensures there is minimal human intervention in the wine-making process; letting the fruits speak for themselves. The goal is to ensure every bottle of wine is a memorable experience.

Remhoogte

Founded in 1812, Remhoogte  is situated on the steep South Western slopes of the famous Simonsberg mountain in Stellenbosch. The complex soils are some of the oldest of any wine region in the world, resulting in wines rich in character and authenticity with a unique sense of place. Everything on the estate is done by hand, from vineyard to bottle with the help of 10 families who live and work on the farm.  With the terroir being perfectly suited for the production of top end red wines the focus is on Bordeaux varietals as well as Pinotage. On the white wines the focus is on Chenin Blanc produced from old vines, a cultivar that performs incredibly well in this region. Our philosophy in the vineyards and cellar is to interfere as little as possible, we are farming for the future generations so sustainability is key to ensure the health of our soils and vineyards.
