The Glen Carlou Merlot 2019 is vibrant in violet colour with a complexity of fresh red berries and cinnamon on the nose. A Merlot with rounded acidity and a silky smooth finish.
This Merlot is medium-bodied yet profound with a layered mouthfeel of mint, vanilla and a touch of oak. The aftertaste of the Glen Carlou Merlot is that of juicy blackberries with subtle plum, cassis and earthy notes.
Glen Carlou was established in 1985. The farm is situated in the Simonsberg Mountains, the summers are warm and dry, and winters are cold and wet. The property has a variety of slopes and some of the richest soil to create unique wine-growing conditions.
