Whobody Wines Whobody Wines is the creation of Tristan Human and Kara Lee, a winemaking duo whose story began during a harvest internship in Tulbagh. Kara, originally from Minnesota, transitioned from a career in photography and graphic design to winemaking, bringing a creative, storytelling spirit to the craft. Tristan, born in Cape Town, studied Viticulture and Oenology and brings deep-rooted knowledge of the vineyard and cellar . Together, they founded Whobody Wines—an independent label born from passion, partnership, and a shared desire to make authentic, expressive wines. The name “Whobody” pays tribute to Kara’s grandfather, a storyteller who coined the term in a beloved family tale. “Whobodies aren’t just anybodies,” he said. “Whobodies are special… the kind of people you miss the moment they leave.” That warmth and sense of connection infuse everything Tristan and Kara do. Whobody Wines is about crafting small-batch wines with soul—each bottle telling its own story, full of character and intention. These are not cookie-cutter wines. They’re made by hand, with heart.
