Raats Family Vineyards is one of South Africa’s premier wine brands. They have been at the forefront of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc wine production for over 20 years. 12 years ago Bruwer Raats started a new project where he could push his philosophy of “quality by design”. He planted a 0.2 hectare high density vineyard (8000 vines per hectare) at his Polkadraai property in Stellenbosch and so Eden by Raats was born. Since their first vintage, the Eden wines are regarded as one of the finest premium Chenin Blanc’s and Cabernet Franc’s to come out of South Africa.

We love it when a new producer just drops by our shop and asks us to taste their wine. Many a true wine gem has been discovered this way and many of them have made it into this mailer we send out to you, our wine adoring customer. The Earth Beneath Our Feet Wines is one of these discoveries.

The Earth Beneath Our Feet was launched to champion the growers behind their wines and to tell their stories. A share farming approach is followed which gives each grower the opportunity to manage their own vineyard, and in turn receiving a fair share of the income it generates.
