February spells romance and in this issue we have some exquisite wine offers and prizes for your loved ones!

In our vineyards the persistent heat, and strong winds, over the start of the harvest season has resulted in several parts picking earlier this year, however many wineries are reporting that what they have picked so far the quality is good! Picking continues for the later ripening varieties some of which are picked by hand and the others with automated machines. Due to the high temperatures picking is usually done in the early hours as vineyard managers rush their grapes into cellars while still cool from the night air.

Looking for an older or sold out wine?
We opened our two stores over two decades ago and as a result have developed close relationships with many wineries and producers. We mention this in case you are perhaps looking for a wine that may no longer be available as we may be able to secure that special bottle for you.

Flavour Focus evenings at Wine Concepts Newlands

Our Flavour Focus tastings are held on a monthly basis on the last Friday of each month.

Our theme for our flavour focus in February celebrates Rose wines during the month of romance!

On Friday 24^th February from 4.00pm – 7.00pm we will have wines from Lourensford, Peter Falke, Org de Rac, Cape Collective, Silverthorn, Tamboerskloof (Kleinood) and Massotina Proseccos.

And on Wednesday 1^st March we have our Newlands Village Open Evening from 16.00 – 20.00 and you are welcome to come and enjoy a tasting of unusual varietals from Morgenster, Thelema and Mont Rochelle.

There is no charge so come and enjoy a tasting or two before you buy a few bottles to take home with you (If you purchase on the evening you will stand a chance to win a selected pack of the products tasted). Congratulations to our recent winner, Bettina Seewor.
