Doran Chenin Blanc 2012
Winemaker: Martin Lamprecht
Background: The grapes were sourced from a 30-year-old bushvine vineyard on the slopes of the Paardeberg. After harvesting, the grapes were de-stemmed and crushed and left for four hours to obtain maximum skin contact. Older 300-litre barrels were used for fermentation after which the wine spent 10 months on the lees prior to bottling.
Result: Significant aromas of rich tropical fruit with delicate hints of peach and apple lead to deliciously creamy rich fruit flavours with voluptuous honeyed-nougat clinching the finish.
When to drink: Now till 2016
Drink with what: It was a perfect match with Pot Luck Club’s Avocado Ritz prepared by Luke Dale Roberts. Enjoy also with Thai duck or chicken or grilled lemon basted Cape Salmon.
Expect to pay: R83.00
