Vondeling Rosé 2013

Background: Produced from 20-year-old Merlot vines at the foot of the Voor Paardeberg Mountain. This is a perfect position for extra sunlight which helps to eliminate any unwanted green flavours. The wine was aged on the lees for six months for extra complexity and the alcohol is an acceptable 12.5 percent.

Result: Attractive salmon colour with subtle red cherry aromas and hints of rose petal. Fresh and vibrant flavours of strawberry and red cherry continue to linger on the finish.

When to drink: Enjoy now while the heat is on!

Drink with what: It was sublime with cherry tomato, feta and pomegranate salad.
