Another stunning wine by Cathrine Marshall made from Elgin grapes. Plush, ripe, purple fruit flavours and aromatics are supported by vibrant, fresh acidity to balance opulently textured mid-core palate weight. We recommend you enjoy this with the best cut of beef; bolognaise type pastas, char-grilled meat and chunky casseroles.
Black Forest 2010 is a blend made from Merlot (85%) and Shiraz (15%) sourced from the Stellenbosch region. Vinified separately the wine was transferred to French Oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and finally aged in barrel for a total of 16 months before blending and bottling.
The wine offers sumptuous, brooding, dark-toned berry fruit aromas with flavours of bursting mulberry fruit, showcased with spicy white peppery whiffs. Enjoy with a good fillet of beef or a rich mushroom based pasta dish. Read more about this wine.
Deep ruby mulberry colour and immense bouquet with scents reminiscent of blackcurrants, red berries, spice and cigar box. A wine of ample structure fills the mouth with concentrated fruit and berry sensations.
This Chardonnay shows hints of pineapple, apple, citrus and freshness. The palate offers a good acidity with a round mouthfeel and it’s packed with fruit complexity. Try this wine with grilled fish, chicken with creamy sauces and grilled corn on the cob with lots of butter!
This is a serious full bodied style wine and can be enjoyed now, but will improve with maturation till 2014. Subtle bouquets of guava, green fig and gooseberries. The palate is fresh and crispy with a round finish.
Aromas of spicy blackberry and toasty oak lead to complex flavours of ripe berry fruit, violet and currant on the smooth palate.
Hartenberg’s flagship white. Creamy, complex, and bursting with aromas of citrus. Long lingering flavours with gentle oak finish.
A voluptuous wine with rich concentrated spice, plumminess and big, but subtle tannins. Hartenberg’s flagship cultivar, with enough credentials to fill a cabinet.
A five-varietal Bordeaux-style wine with balanced fruit and oak. Generous length, rounded tannins, medium body, distinct intensity, supple consistency, round structure, dry finish and harmonious balance. This wine, with its youthful tannins and weighted body, will go well with less chewy meat such as moist biltong; beef hamburgers; cheddar cheese or equally weighted medium mature cheese.
The House of Krone is famous for bubblies with this being a bright star in the collection. Elegant, classic biscuity bouquet, bruised apple complexity with yeasty lees-creaminess and fine, persistent bubbles. Truly elegant
