Established in 1996, Wine Concepts has evolved into a customer focused boutique wine company. The Wine Concepts partners all share a passion for wine which culminated in their first retail store in Cape Towns’ famous Castle of Good Hope in 1998. Since then the business occupies premises in Newlands, Cape Town and has a franchise store in Kloof Street, Cape Town. Our professional team have a combined knowledge and experience of many years in the South African wine industry.
Wine Concepts concentrates on discovering wines that not only deliver quality but value too. We particularly seek those examples that are handcrafted, iconic, everyday and personal. As such we have a varied selection from famous South African stalwarts to little undiscovered garagiste examples, in short a wine for everyone no matter what the budget.

Black Forest 2010 is a blend made from Merlot (85%) and Shiraz (15%) sourced from the Stellenbosch region. Vinified separately the wine was transferred to French Oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and finally aged in barrel for a total of 16 months before blending and bottling.
The wine offers sumptuous, brooding, dark-toned berry fruit aromas with flavours of bursting mulberry fruit, showcased with spicy white peppery whiffs. Enjoy with a good fillet of beef or a rich mushroom based pasta dish.
