|Winter shows visitors to the Cape that our vineyards are starting to be pruned and will eventually look like rows of soldiers in the lush green grass that has grown around them as a result of good winter rains. The dams are filling and we look forward to more to come as well as colder weather, which all helps the vines to rest over the winter. The Cape is in good shape and so are our wines! This month Michael Olivier gives us his delicious recipe of Barley, roasted cauliflower, almond and feta salad. We announce our two upcoming Festivals, some gourmet dinners in the offering this month as well as great competitions and excellent tastings from well known and newer estates. Please visit our website www.wineconcepts.co.za for details on our daily tastings. We look forward to welcoming you back in one of our three stores soon!!Burgundy Lovers Festival – Johannesburg – 15th AugustWine Concepts will be hosting their second Burgundy Lover’s Festival in Johannesburg on Thursday 15th August 2013 from 17h00 – 20h00 at The Wanderers Club, Corlett Drive, Atholl. Sidle up to some Seductive Sauvignons!
August is around the corner and that means it’s time for Wine Concepts to host its annual exclusive Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon Festivals which takes place in Cape Town at The Vineyard Hotel and Spa in Claremont on Friday 30th August from 17h00 to 21h00.
What can be considered as a very niche selection of just two varieties, this popular annual festival gives the wine lover the opportunity to taste and compare over 50 of the current vintage Sauvignons. Big Brother Cabernet Sauvignon will also be putting in an appearance with a great selection of new releases. Another great feature of the Festival is the opportunity to buy the showcased wines at special prices from Wine Concepts for the duration of the show.
Tickets can be bought at www.webtickets.co.za, at the door on the day or at either of our Cape Town Wine Concepts shops. R130 per person for pre booked tickets and R140.00 at the door on the evening, includes a tasting glass and light snacks and there is ample parking at both venues.
