December Newsletter 2012

Wines 4 U December 2012

Schools have broken up, businesses are winding down for the year and soon we will be on holiday! We look forward to having that quality time with our family and friends and enjoy relaxed conversation over a good bottle of wine!

Our eleventh annual Wine Concepts ‘Finer things in Life Champagne Festival’ at the deluxe Vineyard Hotel and Spa took place on Friday 23rd November. The theme was “50 years of James Bond” and so we showed classic 007 movies, while listening to Bond theme songs sung by the delightful Lainey Boonzair alongside two fine Aston Martin cars supplied by
Aston Martin, Cape Town.

Delicious snacks, as well as fresh oysters, sushi, handmade chocolates and rare cheeses paired well with a tasting over 30 cuvees of the finest Champagnes. We thank you all for attending and hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did! We also extend a huge thank you to the Champagne Houses and other exhibitors who attended and also for giving so generously to our raffle.

Our auction on the evening was for a night at the luxurious 12 Apostles Hotel on the Atlantic seaboard, including a private screening of a 007 movie, dinner and accommodation. The highest bidder was James Craven and we wish him and his partner a wonderful time while having his own Bond night out! Our beneficiary of the auction was St Lukes Hospice in Kenilworth for whom we have helped raise much needed funds for this caring organization.

Both our stores have stocked up with delicious wines, bubblies and gifts (see our list below) for the festive season so we look forward to seeing you soon.

We wish you all a wonderful festive season with happy holidays and best wishes for the New Year.
